Terms of Use

Last updated: April 2026 · Effective immediately

answrd is free. We will never charge you to pray. These terms are plain and honest — no legal tricks.

Acceptance

By downloading and using answrd, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app. These terms apply to all users of the answrd app and website at answrd.app.

What answrd is

answrd is a Christian prayer app — a tool for personal prayer. It is not a church, a ministry, a counselling service, or a substitute for pastoral care.

answrd does not provide theological advice, pastoral care, or medical guidance. If you are in crisis, please contact a pastor, counsellor, or emergency services.

Your account

answrd creates an anonymous account for you automatically when you first open the app. You do not need to provide personal information to use the core features of the app.

Your content is stored securely under your anonymous account. If you delete the app without having linked a personal account, your data may not be recoverable.

You are responsible for keeping your device secure. We are not responsible for unauthorised access to your content through your device.

Your content

Your prayers, declarations, and testimonies belong to you. We do not claim ownership of anything you create in the app.

By using answrd, you grant us a limited licence to store and present your content within the app for the sole purpose of providing the service to you. We do not use your content for any other purpose.

You agree not to enter content that is harmful, illegal, or offensive. We reserve the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.

Free forever

answrd is free to use. Core features of the app are free and will remain free. We will never add a paywall to prayer.

The Give feature allows you to voluntarily support answrd financially. This is entirely optional. Your use of the app is not conditional on giving.

Donations and payments

If you choose to give to answrd, payments are processed by our payment processor. By making a donation you agree to their terms of service. Donations are voluntary gifts to support the app's development and running costs. They are not charitable donations and may not be tax-deductible.

Monthly recurring donations can be cancelled at any time by contacting legal@answrd.app.

Notifications

If you grant notification permission, answrd sends daily prayer reminders at the times you choose. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings or within the app. We do not send marketing notifications.

Intellectual property

The answrd app, its design, code, name, and the ✦ mark are owned by answrd. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the app without our written permission.

Scripture quotations are used for personal devotional purposes. Individual translations are owned by their respective copyright holders.

Availability

We aim to keep answrd available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes.

Limitation of liability

answrd is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any loss of data, interruption of service, or any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of answrd will not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app. Continued use of answrd after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
